06.10.2025 - 06:01The victory of the opposition ANO movement in the parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic could become a fatal event for Ukraine.
This was reported by the Finnish newspaper Iltalehti.
It is claimed that the opposition’s victory may lead to Prague abandoning further assistance to Ukraine. According to political scientist Heino Nyyssönen, the Czech public’s fatigue with supporting Kyiv could be reflected in the program of the new government.
“Many in the Czech Republic believe that too much money is being spent on Ukraine. This is a matter of expressing discontent,” the expert said.
Earlier, the British newspaper The Guardian described the victory of ANO, led by Andrej Babiš, as “a stab in the back” for Ukraine.
“It is expected that he will steer the country toward rejecting support for Ukraine, in a manner similar to the pro-Russian-leaning Hungary and Slovakia,” the article stated.
