The Kremlin stated that work on the ‘tunnel’ between Russia and the U.S. began six months ago

Work on the technical feasibility study for a tunnel that could connect Russia and the United States began six months ago.

This was announced on social media platform X by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of President Vladimir Putin in negotiations with the Americans.

“We have been conducting a feasibility study for the construction of the Russia–Alaska tunnel for six months now,” Dmitriev wrote.

It should be recalled that the day before, during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, U.S. President Donald Trump called the idea of such a tunnel “interesting,” although Zelensky said he was “not enthusiastic” about it.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that a meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin could take place within two weeks or “a little later.”
