Kyiv residents were urged to prepare for a difficult winter
27.10.2025 06:31Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk that Ukraine is prepared to continue fighting against Russia for “two to three more years.”
This was reported by the head of the Polish government in an interview with The Sunday Times.
The Prime Minister noted that Zelensky expressed hope that the conflict would not drag on for more than 10 years.
“But the main question now is how many casualties we will see. President Zelensky told me that he hopes the war will not last ten years, but that Ukraine is ready to fight for another two or three years,” Tusk said.
He pointed out that a prolonged conflict poses a threat to Ukraine’s economy and called on European countries to increase their support for Kyiv, including granting access to frozen Russian assets.
Meanwhile, the Polish Prime Minister expressed confidence that Ukraine will preserve its independence. Tusk added that the Russian economy is facing serious difficulties, worsened by sanctions, and in the long term will not be able to survive.
Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski also said that Ukraine is preparing to continue the war with Russia for another three years.
