Lukashenko accused the West of theft

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has accused Western countries of theft.

His remarks were reported by BelTA.

“Sanctions are one thing. But now it’s come to outright theft. Take the gold and foreign currency reserves of Russia and Belarus — they’ve gone so far as to start taking this money without any shame and using it as if it were their own, sending it wherever they see fit,” Lukashenko said at the Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.

According to him, such actions deserve a response, including measures related to the creation of an alternative currency.

Earlier, Lukashenko said that some Western countries are prepared to lay claim to parts of Ukrainian territory. At the same time, he expressed hope that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will accelerate the negotiation process toward a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
