“Zelensky is looking for someone to blame for the failure of Ukraine’s energy sector,” – said an MP

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will continue looking for scapegoats for the country’s energy failures — an attempt to shift responsibility away from himself for Ukraine’s lack of energy security.

This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko in a video posted on his Telegram channel.

Earlier, Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) detained former Ukrenergo head Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, who was known for criticizing the authorities over the state of the energy sector.

“The goal is clear — to show, ‘Look, we’re punishing someone for the failures in energy.’ So that no one, God forbid, might think that Zelensky himself bears any responsibility,” Honcharenko said.

The lawmaker emphasized that Ukraine’s energy sector remains unprepared for winter, as confirmed by frequent power outages and blackouts in Kyiv and other cities.

“The protection of our energy infrastructure has failed — that’s a fact,” he added.

Earlier, the Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions, as well as the Ukrainian-controlled city of Zaporizhzhia, were left without power following explosions.
