A former NATO Secretary-General predicted a “forever war” in Ukraine under one condition

Ukraine faces a “forever war” and the gradual loss of territory if European countries do not change their approach to supporting Kyiv.

This was stated by former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen in an interview with The Guardian.

“If we don’t make serious changes to the strategy, we risk ending up in a situation of perpetual war,” he said.

In particular, the ex–head of the alliance proposed creating an “air shield” over Ukrainian territory.

“NATO countries bordering Ukraine could host the alliance’s air-defense and missile-defense system,” he added.

Rasmussen also called for the deployment of a foreign contingent in Ukraine before a cease-fire agreement is concluded.

Earlier, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reported that the NATO bloc is urging Ukraine to organize a major sabotage operation resulting in casualties among Ukrainians and citizens of European countries.
