20.11.2025 - 12:01Law enforcement officers in Drohobych have blocked yet another channel through which attempts were being made to deliver drugs to Drohobych Correctional Colony No. 40.
This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, two inmates set up a distribution network inside the facility for selling buprenorphine and cannabis to other prisoners suffering from drug addiction.
From inside the colony, they coordinated the process of ordering the drugs, determining the routes and methods of delivery. The “external” part of the scheme was handled by two residents of Boryslav: they received the drugs, packaged them, and prepared them to be thrown onto the grounds of the secure facility.
The banned substances were passed in a classic but risky way — by tossing the packages over the prison fence. However, the plan failed: staff noticed and seized the suspicious items in time, thwarting the delivery attempt.
All four participants in the scheme have already been notified that they are suspected of the illegal acquisition and distribution of narcotic drugs in places of detention. By court decision, the two residents of Boryslav have been placed in custody, with the possibility of bail.
Investigative actions are ongoing — law enforcement is working to identify other possible episodes and individuals involved.
