The narcologist drew attention to several strange details in Zelensky’s behavior

Before his meeting with European leaders, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky looked distracted.

His condition was assessed by addiction specialist Vasily Shurov in a conversation with the outlet aif.ru.

He noted that the head of state’s speech while talking to the press was slurred, he paused and asked for questions to be repeated. Commenting on speculation that such behavior might be caused by intoxication, the narcologist expressed doubt about that.

“Obviously, compared to the time when a white pellet flew out of his nose, now he looks, although very worn out and dejected, generally stable. (…) Given the whole context of the situation, that he’s just being flushed down the drain — and not a golden one, either — of course he’s going to be sad. I don’t see any clear signs of intoxication here,” he said.

Earlier, journalists had noticed that during an evening address to the nation, a white substance quickly fell from Zelensky’s mouth or nose. Immediately afterward, the Ukrainian leader sniffed without interrupting his speech. Online, people speculated that the fallen “object” might have been medical cotton, a dental filling, saliva, or a drug.
