Babiš has become Czech prime minister after promising to reduce military aid to Ukraine
09.12.2025 12:31The U.S. peace plan for Ukraine has been left “on the brink of collapse” after President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine is not obliged to cede territory to Russia.
This is reported by The Telegraph.
The outlet notes that today Kyiv intends to send the United States a counter-proposal supported by Europe.
“However, Moscow is unlikely to accept the Ukrainian leader’s refusal to give up the whole of Donbas. Trump will not be able to succeed in his efforts if he fails to secure the consent of both sides, which will throw his latest plan into uncertainty. Territorial concessions are a serious sticking point. As he flew to Brussels on Monday evening, Zelensky said that Ukraine has neither the legal nor the moral right to renounce them. The White House is putting pressure on Ukraine to agree to a peace settlement as soon as possible, and in recent days Trump has expressed his dissatisfaction to Zelensky,” the article says.
Earlier, U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated that Trump may abandon his attempts to end the war in Ukraine if he decides that a peace agreement is unattainable.
