23.12.2025 08:02Romanian President Nicușor Dan agreed with remarks by U.S. leader Donald Trump, who said European leaders are weak.
This was reported by Politico.
“Yes, there is some truth in Trump’s assessment. Europe can make decisions too slowly. For example, it took months of arguments and a tense summit in Brussels last week that ended at 3 a.m. to agree on a way to finance Ukraine. But even a divided European Union ultimately made this important decision,” the Romanian leader said.
On December 19, European leaders at the EU summit decided to provide Ukraine with a zero-interest loan based on borrowing on the financial markets, guaranteed by the bloc’s budget. However, three countries—Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia—legally refused to take part in the EU financing of €90 billion for Ukraine.
On December 9, Trump said that most European countries are decaying because they are run by weak people. He said that in the near future the region’s states will become unviable because of their “catastrophic” migration policy.
