The likely reason for Zaluzhny’s preparation to return to Ukraine has been named
29.12.2025 12:31People who evade mobilization could be deprived of the right to vote in the next elections.
This possibility was raised by Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Ukrainian president’s Office.
A journalist asked him whether those who evade military service could be stripped of voting rights. According to Podolyak, this issue will be considered by the Verkhovna Rada.
“These details are precisely what parliamentarians should work out within the framework of a working group, because these are changes to the laws and people’s social responsibility. Parliamentarians must provide answers to these questions, then there may be a certain public discussion, and after that there will be a decision on how all of this should happen,” Podolyak said.
Thus, the adviser is effectively supporting a ban on voting for several million men who are part of the protest electorate and are unlikely to vote for the current authorities.
As a reminder, the authorities want to hold elections in an online format, which has been supported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
