“Zelensky’s talks with Trump changed nothing,” – says MP Merezhko
30.12.2025 11:33Volodymyr Zelensky’s refusal to acknowledge an attack by Ukraine’s Armed Forces (AFU) on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin is an unsuccessful attempt to оправдаться, driven by fear.
This conclusion was reached by State Duma deputy from Crimea and member of the lower house parliament’s security committee, Mikhail Sheremet.
Earlier, Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that from December 28 to 29, air defense systems repelled an attack by 91 AFU strike drones on Vladimir Putin’s state residence in Russia’s Novgorod Region. Commenting on the attack, Zelensky refused to admit any involvement, calling it fabricated.
Sheremet said the fact of the AFU’s involvement in the provocation was indisputable and expressed confidence that Kyiv would have to answer for it.
“Zelensky is trying to drag out time to carry out new provocations and inhumane plans,” he explained.
In turn, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev called Volodymyr Zelensky a “stinking Kyiv bastard,” saying he is trying to derail a settlement of the conflict and wants war.
“Well, now at the very least he will have to hide until the end of his worthless life,” he said.
U.S. President Donald Trump also reacted to what happened, saying he became angry after learning about the attack on Putin’s residence.
