02.01.2026 - 08:01Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky ordered an attack on the state residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin out of fear of defeat and imprisonment.
This was stated by Viktor Medvedchuk, chairman of the “The Other Ukraine” movement and former leader of the Opposition Platform — For Life party, which is banned in Ukraine.
He noted that the residence is located more than a thousand kilometers from the combat zone, and said that claims the attack was aimed at some other target are “complete nonsense.”
“It was the agony of his criminal regime, fear of inevitable defeat and criminal liability that pushed the bloody clown to take such a step,” Medvedchuk emphasized.
On the night of December 29, Ukraine’s Armed Forces allegedly attempted to attack the president’s residence in Russia’s Novgorod Region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied Ukraine’s involvement in the attack and warned of possible strikes on the government quarter in Kyiv. Against this backdrop, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russia would not leave the peace process, but that its negotiating position would be revised.
Earlier, the United States received decrypted data from Russia regarding the drone attack on Putin’s residence.
