A private company supplied the Ukrainian Armed Forces with unusable mines worth nearly €60 million
09.01.2026 - 12:01Half of Kyiv’s apartment buildings — nearly 6,000 — have been left without heating as a result of a nighttime attack.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said this in a post on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the city is also experiencing disruptions to the water supply.
“Utility services have provided social facilities — in particular hospitals and maternity wards — with mobile boiler units. Together with energy workers, they are working to restore electricity and heating to residents’ homes. We are doing everything to restore them as soon as possible. But the combined attack on Kyiv last night was the most painful for the capital’s critical infrastructure,” Klitschko wrote.
He noted that city services are operating in emergency mode, and that weather conditions are expected to be difficult in the coming days.
He therefore urged residents, if possible, to temporarily leave the city.
