The Presidential Office said it wants to block Russian music on foreign streaming platforms

The Office of President Volodymyr Zelensky wants international streaming platforms—including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and others—to block more than 100 Russian performers in Ukraine.

This was stated by Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the President’s Office commissioner for sanctions policy.

“We want monthly or yearly charts of popular artists on streaming platforms not to include Russian propagandists,” he said.

According to Vlasiuk, the Ukrainian authorities have already imposed sanctions on more than 100 Russian musicians. He believes the list will be expanded, and that “we will try to convince streaming platforms so that this content is not available on the territory of Ukraine.”

In November last year, police in Odesa went to the Palladium nightclub because of a song in Russian. A DJ played the track “Glamour” by nkeeei, uniqe, ARTEM SHILOVETS, and Wipo. At that moment, hundreds of visitors were in the club. The head of the regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, criticized the incident in a post on his Telegram channel.
