U.S. President Donald Trump said that Ukraine and Russia are not showing simultaneous readiness to conclude peace.

During a press conference for American media, he noted that he continues efforts to improve relations between Kyiv and Moscow.

“And when Russia is ready, Ukraine is not. When Ukraine is ready, Russia is not,” the U.S. president said. “But they are losing on average 25,000 people a month.”

And his administration, Trump is convinced, has done far more than any other in matters of military conflicts and ending wars. He said that no one has ever seen anything like it before.

Recall that Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov noted that there is noticeable progress in the negotiation process, but it is still too early to speak about a quick peace. Meanwhile, former Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that in 2026 Ukraine can count on a ceasefire, but definitely not on the end of the war. The diplomat predicted when the next “windows” for negotiations would open — at the end of February, in the summer, and at the end of next winter.
