Left lying under a tree: witnesses claim that in Zelensky’s hometown, draft officers shot a man
25.02.2026 - 05:03A referendum asking about the terms for ending the war could be held through the Diia app.
This was stated by MP Serhii Yevtushok from the Batkivshchyna faction in an interview on the “Superposition” channel.
According to him, holding elections during a temporary ceasefire is unacceptable. At the same time, he said the mandatory conditions for elections are security guarantees and a full-fledged election campaign.
The MP explained that there is still no clarity on how elections could be organized during wartime, so serious questions would arise about their legitimacy.
He expects voting to be conducted “via closed party lists,” but with an additional mechanism introduced.
“We’ve seen Smilianskyi trying to propose doing this through Ukrposhta (holding elections). That’s also a dubious story, because… In that case it would be better not through postal workers and those Ukrposhta vehicles, but rather through some bank, where there are armored vehicles that transport money—there is more security there. Because no one will give guarantees about transporting ballots. Smilianskyi’s proposal looks like a theatrical prop and unrealistic,” the MP said.
At the same time, he said there are already discussions that a one-question referendum could be conducted in Diia.
It is worth recalling that Volodymyr Zelensky has publicly supported online voting for possible elections. At the same time, even an MP from his own faction said this creates a huge risk of fraud, since the authorities could draw any result for themselves with virtually no oversight.
