“Aggression breeds aggression”: draft officials promised MPs that there will be no more forceful mobilization methods
19.03.2026 13:20The situation in Ukraine for President Volodymyr Zelensky has sharply worsened after the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran.
This was reported by Berliner Zeitung (BZ).
“The United States has been increasing pressure on him (Zelensky) for some time now; at the same time, sanctions against Russia are being eased and arms deliveries [to Ukraine] are being questioned,” the authors of the article noted.
In their view, Kyiv’s negotiating position has significantly weakened recently.
The piece emphasizes that the question of whether Ukraine is ready to make painful concessions in order to end the fighting remains unanswered. At the same time, the country’s authorities are currently refusing to уступать (make concessions), so a quick breakthrough in negotiations to resolve the conflict should not be expected, the journalists added.
On March 15, the U.S. president said that reaching a deal with Volodymyr Zelensky is much more difficult than with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. According to the White House head, he is surprised by Ukraine’s leader’s unwillingness to conclude an agreement.
Earlier, the Kremlin reported a pause in the work of the trilateral group of Russia, the United States, and Ukraine.
