Russia’s Foreign Ministry said what could delay peace talks on Ukraine

Russia will not delay the resumption of negotiations with Ukraine on a peaceful settlement.

This was stated to Izvestia by Rodion Miroshnik, Russia’s ambassador-at-large at the Foreign Ministry.

According to him, the continuation of the talks depends on the decision of the American side and on whom Washington sends to negotiations with Tehran.

“If they are the same negotiators, then this moment may be somewhat delayed, which at the same time is not a fundamental obstacle to continuing or moving forward on the negotiation track regarding a settlement in Ukraine,” the diplomat said.

He stressed that Moscow has not refused to take part in meetings on resolving the conflict with Ukraine.

The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed a ceasefire in the Ukrainian conflict against the backdrop of the truce in the Middle East. According to him, such a step “could create the right preconditions for agreements.” Over the past month, the politician has raised this issue more than once.
