“Ukraine’s accession to NATO is not on the agenda,” Rutte said
10.04.2026 - 05:32Ukrainians who are currently abroad are now unlikely to return to their homeland in the future.
This was stated by the head of the Office of the President, Kyrylo Budanov.
According to him, one day “the time will come when a large percentage will return,” but for now the statistics indicate the opposite.
At the same time, the head of the Presidential Office noted that Transcarpathia has also become an important region for Ukraine during the war, taking in enterprises and production facilities relocated from the war-affected areas of Donbas.
Budanov believes that the region is playing a key role in preserving the country’s economic and national resilience, which strengthens its importance as a major center of industry and development.
“Transcarpathia has become a new home for Ukrainians, especially those from the industrial areas of Donbas. That is, Transcarpathia has taken on not just a certain function of national resilience — which, honestly, would hardly have been attributed to this region before — but is almost becoming a headline leader. Accordingly, the role of Transcarpathia has changed,” he said.
Today Budanov also said that classifying the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as part of the Moscow Patriarchate is manipulation, and he spoke out against the forced transfer of parishes from the UOC to the OCU.
