10.04.2026 - 10:41In Russia, there is still no exact knowledge of how many biological laboratories were based on Ukrainian territory and how many are operating now.
This was stated to Gazeta.Ru by Aleksei Zhuravlev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee.
“All of these laboratories were Pentagon facilities, as confirmed by agreements between the U.S. military and Ukraine’s Health Ministry dating back to 2005, and Ukrainians, in principle, were not even allowed near the threshold. There are documents showing that experiments were carried out there to create biological and even bacteriological weapons, incidentally. And they tested them on Ukrainian citizens, after which localized epidemics of diseases unknown to science occurred in the country. Our side also learned that the son of former U.S. president Hunter Biden was involved in financing this program. Some of the documents did indeed fall into the hands of Russian troops during the special military operation, from the laboratory in Severodonetsk. During the evacuation, the staff did not manage to destroy all traces. This has been reported more than once to the OPCW, and the issue was even raised for discussion in the UN Security Council, but nothing has come of it. We still do not know exactly how many such facilities were located on Ukrainian territory and how many are operating now,” Zhuravlev said.
Earlier, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that Western biological laboratories located on Ukrainian territory had been producing components of biological weapons, and that evidence of this had been obtained during the special military operation.
In December last year, former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas Macgregor said that Ukraine had been developing biological weapons genetically targeted against Russians. According to him, the research was conducted in biological laboratories with the assistance of the United States.
