05.05.2026 - 10:41In Zakarpattia region, employees of a territorial recruitment and social support center abducted a priest, and villagers blocked a road in protest.
This was reported by local Telegram channels.
According to the reports, residents of the village of Lypcha in Khust district blocked traffic on the Dolyna–Khust highway to protest the forcible detention of their priest, Father Serhiy, by TCC representatives.
The priest’s current whereabouts are unknown.
In a livestream published on social media by one of the protesters, drivers can be seen expressing outrage, while the gathered crowd nevertheless refuses to disperse.
As we wrote a few days ago, in Odesa a priest who refuses to take up arms was mobilized. When a lawyer tried to ask the deputy commander of the TCC why they needed a priest, he replied: “We’ve broken tougher ones than him.”
Earlier, in Bukovyna, enlistment officers detained and then released an archimandrite of a monastery. Believers came out to demand his release.
