Unexploded unguided rocket shell containing 2 kg of explosives found in Romania near Ukrainian border

In the Romanian village of Pardina, in Tulcea County, located near the border with Ukraine, an unexploded unguided rocket shell has been discovered. This was reported by Romania’s Ministry of National Defence.

According to the ministry, a report of the find was received on Saturday, May 16, at around 15:00.

“On Saturday, May 16, at around 15:00, the Ministry of National Defence received a report that an unexploded unguided rocket shell had been discovered in the yard of an uninhabited house in the village of Pardina, Tulcea County,” the ministry’s statement reads.

The area around the find has been cordoned off. Police, border service representatives, and the Romanian Intelligence Service are working at the scene.

A technical examination confirmed that the shell’s casing contains two kilograms of explosive material.
