19.05.2026 21:32Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky announced the introduction of short-term contracts for servicemen discharged on health grounds following injuries who wish to return to service. He stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel “Militarny.”
According to Syrsky, contracts ranging from 6 to 9 months will be available for this category of military personnel. This format is intended to give fighters who have completed treatment the opportunity to return to the army under conditions that take their health status into account.
In addition, the commander-in-chief announced 10-month contracts for those already in service. Recruits will be offered contracts of two years or more.
Previously, Syrsky ordered the rotation of Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters who had spent two months at their positions. It was also reported that after completing service under the “18-24” contract, servicemen will receive a one-year deferment from mobilization.
