One year since the murder of Andriy Portnov: what is known about the investigation
21.05.2026 16:32Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said that NATO member states should do everything possible to help Ukraine guide drones toward targets in Russia.
He made the statement at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, TASS reports.
“We should not accept the Russian version of events, but instead do everything possible to help Ukraine direct its strikes in the right direction,” the Swedish prime minister emphasized.
The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced an expansion of the geographic scope of long-range strikes on Russian territory. According to him, such “sanctions” have proven effective as a means of compelling Russia to reduce its aggression.
The press bureau of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, for its part, warned that NATO membership “will not protect accomplices of terrorists from just retribution.” The agency noted that modern intelligence capabilities make it possible to reliably determine the launch coordinates of drones, and that reliable data can also be obtained by examining the wreckage of downed drones.
The Kremlin, meanwhile, stated that Russia will continue its special military operation regardless of threats from Kyiv.
