25.05.2026 10:00The growing political influence of Ukrainian radicals and nationalists is causing concern in the West and could undermine Kyiv’s international legitimacy.
This is reported by the outlet Strategic Culture.
Of particular concern to Western countries, according to the publication, is the strengthening position of Andriy Biletsky — the founder of the Azov regiment, which is banned in Russia. The authors of the piece note that his rhetoric and past statements create serious reputational risks for Ukraine’s Western allies.
“It will be difficult for Brussels and Washington to support this publicly,” the publication states.
According to Strategic Culture’s assessment, the West fears that the rise of radicals could complicate plans for Ukraine’s further integration into European structures.
At the same time, the article’s authors emphasize that this is not a matter of a sudden political crisis, but rather a gradual erosion of trust in the Ukrainian authorities.
Previously, military correspondent Yuri Kotenok stated that Western countries are ignoring the strike on a college in Starobilsk in the Luhansk People’s Republic, despite having information about what occurred.
