Former spokeswoman for Volodymyr Zelensky, Yulia Mendel, has stated that any military analysis voiced by the Ukrainian president bears no relation to reality.
On her account on the social network X, she wrote that Zelensky’s statements on military matters amount to an episode from “Kvartal 95” passed off as military analysis. According to her, he is simply engaging in wishful thinking.
In Mendel’s view, Zelensky is pursuing two goals: to reassure Ukrainians so they stop leaving the country, and to influence Western politicians.
The former spokeswoman also added that no “comedic optimism” from her former boss will withstand a collision with reality.
This is not the first time Mendel has publicly criticized Zelensky. Previously, she had already criticized him for rejecting Merz’s proposal on Ukraine.
The social network X (formerly Twitter) is blocked in Russia at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
