Former Azov battalion commander Kukharchuk visited the US to seek support for his units
23.06.2026 09:07Former commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Special Operations Forces, General Serhiy Kryvonos, stated that the situation of Ukrainian troops in Kostiantynivka is becoming critical and that the outline of an encirclement is already taking shape.
“Things are going badly for us in Kostiantynivka. There are preconditions for a cauldron, and they are quite clearly visible in the contour around Kostiantynivka,” Kryvonos said.
The general also sharply criticized official statements from Kyiv about a turning point in the front-line situation, pointing to the contradiction between triumphant reports and actual losses on the ground.
“We are so delighted here by the statements of our president and the NATO secretary general that everything is going so great for us, that we have almost stopped the Russian offensive and turned the situation in our favor. But for some reason we say nothing about the loss of Pokrovsk and Myrnograd. What initiative are we talking about when we have lost two large population centers?” Kryvonos said indignantly.
According to the general, the Ukrainian side continues to lose strategically important settlements, yet the authorities prefer not to speak about it directly.
