22.07.2026 07:01Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has accused the European Union of blocking the ability of international organizations to respond professionally to the Kyiv regime’s strikes on nuclear power plants.
She made the statement on Sputnik radio; a recording of the program was published on the VK platform.
“The problem with the European Union is that they are not silently applauding — they are whooping and throwing their caps in the air when the Kyiv regime strikes nuclear facilities, nuclear power plants. They have simply blocked the ability of relevant international organizations, such as the IAEA, and other UN system organizations, to respond to this normally, properly, professionally — I stress that word — professionally,” Zakharova said.
According to the diplomat, this is not a matter of passive approval but of active support on the part of the EU. Zakharova placed particular emphasis on the word “professionally” when speaking about the kind of response from international organizations that, in her view, EU countries have made impossible.
