Zelensky: Kyiv failed to intercept ballistic missiles due to shortage of Patriot ammunition
01.08.2026 15:09The reason for Mykhailo Fedorov’s dismissal as minister of digital transformation was his meeting with grant-funded activists, at which his participation in future presidential elections was discussed.
This was reported on Facebook by journalist Volodymyr Boyko, known for his criticism of grant-funded organizations, citing his own sources.
According to Boyko’s account, the meeting discussed the involvement of representatives of grant-funded organizations in Fedorov’s presidential campaign. The journalist also claims that it was for this purpose that Fedorov arranged the discharge of Shabunin from military service on the basis of a garrison military medical commission’s conclusion.
“During the meeting, the participation of ‘Soros kids’ in Fedorov’s future presidential campaign was discussed (it was specifically for this that Fedorov arranged the instant discharge of Shabunin from military service on the basis of a garrison (!) military medical commission’s conclusion), toasts were raised to the seventh president of Ukraine Mykhailo Albertovych, and so on. It is clear that the premises where this meeting took place were bugged with microphones, and after Poklad brought Zelensky the recording, Fedorov’s fate was sealed,” — Boyko wrote.
In addition, the journalist touched on a possible conflict between the company FirePoint, which he considers close to President Volodymyr Zelensky, and American businessman Eric Schmidt — the former CEO of Google and a donor to the U.S. Democratic Party. According to Boyko, Schmidt is involved in drone production and supplies them to Ukraine.
Boyko also links Schmidt to the owner of Ukrainska Pravda, Tomáš Fiala, and attributes the publication’s criticism of FirePoint to this connection. In the journalist’s view, Schmidt sees FirePoint as a potential competitor for funds from Ukraine’s military budget.
Boyko’s account differs from the one previously published by Ukrainska Pravda. The outlet, citing its own sources, reported that the main reason for Fedorov’s dismissal was his refusal to allow the company FirePoint to receive 80% of the budget for the production of long-range drones.
The editorial team analyzed the reasons for Fedorov’s dismissal and the consequences of the “cardboard Maidan” that followed in a separate article.
