On July 14, Russian security forces stated that a blocking detachment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had killed a forcibly mobilized clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. According to the security forces, after being conscripted, the priest attempted to avoid participation in combat operations.

According to him, the athlete was first subjected to torture. After that, Ukrainian servicemen stole around €7,000 and drove off in an old Toyota that had been parked in the yard of the house, the relative noted.
