25.08.2026 06:35The coalition of the willing intends to continue preparing multinational forces for deployment on Ukrainian territory after the cessation of hostilities.
A corresponding statement by the leaders of the participating countries was published on the British government’s website following a videoconference.
The coalition’s press release states:
“The coalition will continue to prepare Ukraine’s multinational forces for deployment after a durable cessation of hostilities. This will take place as part of a broader package of politically robust and legally binding security guarantees designed to ensure Ukraine’s future security and prosperity after a ceasefire comes into effect.”
In addition to force preparation, coalition members stated their intention to prioritize continuing to strengthen military support for Ukraine, including its air defense systems, as well as providing necessary technologies, including anti-ballistic ones.
The coalition meeting was held in Kyiv. Russia opposes the deployment of Western troops in Ukraine following the war and refuses to include this issue in peace agreements.
Earlier, Western media reported that British long-range drones had for the first time been used to strike targets on Russian territory.
