British prime minister hands Zelensky secret blueprints for Storm Shadow missile components

During his first visit to Kyiv, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham handed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “secret blueprints” for components of Storm Shadow missiles.

This was reported by the British newspaper The Telegraph.

According to the publication, the blueprints will allow Ukraine to establish its own production of the missiles. During the meeting, Burnham assured the Ukrainian side of the unwavering nature of British support.

“I want the Ukrainian people to hear directly from me that our support will not waver. Ultimately, Ukraine’s security is our security,” Burnham said.

The prime minister also noted that he is proud of Britain’s contribution to Ukraine’s development, and stressed that London will continue to provide assistance to Kyiv “for as long as it takes.”

Storm Shadow is a long-range cruise missile produced by the Anglo-French consortium MBDA Missile Systems and designed to strike hardened targets. London has been supplying these missiles to Ukraine since 2023.

On August 25, Burnham announced his intention to visit the United States in September to discuss with American leadership the issue of supplying missiles for Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. The British prime minister had previously also spoken of “outrageous threats” from Russia.
