Russia’s Ministry of Defense announces preparations for massive strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure
31.08.2026 10:03Serhiy Beskrestnov, an adviser to the Ukrainian president with the call sign “Flash,” urged Ukrainians not to panic amid reports of goods shortages in stores, assuring that the country will not be left without food.
The post appeared on his Telegram channel.
According to Beskrestnov, manufacturers and retailers are currently restructuring their supply chains. The adviser also noted that Europe is ready to help Ukraine if necessary.
“Friends, we won’t ‘starve to death.’ Manufacturers and retailers are now restructuring their supply chains. If the need arises, Europe will ‘gladly’ fill any food gap through exports,” he wrote.
The statement was prompted by complaints from residents of Lviv about food shortages in large chain supermarkets. A similar situation with empty shelves has been reported in Kyiv as well. In a number of Novus chain stores, it is impossible to buy bread, potatoes, apples, oatmeal, certain types of chicken, and frozen products. Some ATB supermarkets have introduced restrictions on the sale of certain goods per customer.
Earlier, Ukrainian officials announced the destruction of 90% of commercial warehouses.
