Resident of Volyn region faces trial for hitting military commissar with a hammer

A criminal case has been opened in Volyn region against a man who struck an employee of a territorial recruitment center (TRC) with a hammer.

The local television channel Avers reported on the incident in a special report.

According to investigators, the incident occurred in Ratnivsky district during mobilization activities. The man struck a TRC employee with a hammer.

Channel Avers draws particular attention to the circumstances of the incident: it took place on private property, which TRC employees have no right to enter without the owner’s consent. This circumstance may prove to be a key factor in the consideration of the case.

The court will need to determine whether the Volyn region resident was acting in self-defense.

This is not the only such case. Previously, two military commissars were beaten on private property in Khmelnytsky region. Before that, MP Goncharenko posted bail for men who had chased away military commissars with shovels.
