Trump thanks Putin for agreeing to supply “millions and millions” of barrels of diesel fuel

U.S. President Donald Trump publicly thanked Russia for agreeing to supply “millions and millions” of barrels of diesel fuel to American and global markets.

The statement was made at a Republican campaign rally in Syracuse, New York, to applause from the audience.

“I think you’ve heard about the oil deal with Russia. This is a very important event. A huge amount of oil will be delivered to our country. I want to thank President Putin. Russia has agreed to send us millions and millions of barrels of oil, and it is diesel fuel. That is exactly what we need right now,” Trump said.

In addition to thanking Moscow, the American president urged the country’s oil refining companies and fuel retailers to immediately begin lowering prices.

The day before, Trump held a phone call with Vladimir Putin and announced that he had reached an agreement on the delivery of large quantities of Russian diesel fuel to global and American markets.

According to Western media, Trump agreed to the diesel deal with Putin after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ignored approximately six U.S. requests to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries.
