Germany: opposition demands ‘diesel deal’ with Russia modeled on Trump’s example
11.10.2026 14:02Washington may stop sharing intelligence with Kyiv in connection with Ukraine’s strikes on oil refineries on Russian territory.
This is reported by the German outlet Deutsche Welle, citing a senior Ukrainian official.
According to the source, Washington conveyed to Kyiv “an insistent request from the US president” to halt attacks on Russian fuel facilities. No direct threat from the White House was made, however.
Nevertheless, the question of a possible halt to intelligence sharing was raised during negotiations with the Kyiv delegation in Miami. It was put forward by Donald Trump’s special envoys — Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
The outlet Axios had previously also reported on Trump’s demand to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries. The Ukraine-US talks ended ahead of schedule, although Witkoff described them as “constructive.”
Trump criticized Zelensky over new strikes on refineries in Russia and called for him to be replaced as president of Ukraine. Earlier, Trump and Putin concluded a diesel deal.
