USA pressures Zelensky: peace on Moscow’s terms in exchange for economic benefits
20.10.2026 11:02The State Bureau of Investigations has announced a suspicion against a serviceman from one of the units of the Lviv Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCC and SP): together with other TCC employees, he brutally beat a mobilized man who later died in hospital from his injuries.
This is not the first criminal case against the serviceman. In August, the Shevchenkivsky District Court of Lviv found him guilty of accepting a bribe in conspiracy with others and sentenced him to a non-custodial punishment. As early as September, he became the subject of new criminal proceedings.
According to the SBI, during the beating the mobilized man was lying on the floor with his hands tied behind his back and was unable to defend himself. The TCC employees struck him with their fists and feet to the body and chest. The suspect himself delivered at least two kicks to the victim. After the beating, the man was forcibly moved to a utility room at the TCC, from which he was subsequently taken away by an ambulance.
At the hospital, doctors recorded multiple broken ribs, severe lung damage, and other life-threatening injuries. He could not be saved.
The serviceman has been served with a suspicion of intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm resulting in the victim’s death, committed by a group of persons — under Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to 10 years in prison. The court remanded the suspect in custody without the right to post bail.
This is not an isolated case. In the spring, employees of the Podilsky TCC in Kyiv beat a mobilized man to death during transportation. Shortly before that, in Dnipro, a 43-year-old man died after being beaten by military commissars.
