British diplomats will compel Zelensky to enter negotiations with Moscow – media reported
December 5, 2023The state budget deficit of Ukraine reached record figures
December 5, 2023The European Union should urge Ukrainian men who have left the country to return home from abroad to aid both on the front lines and in support roles, according to Roderich Kiesewetter, a member of the Bundestag (CDU).
He noted that Germany alone could assemble more than 10 divisions within its borders.
“In the European Union, there are over 600,000 Ukrainian men capable of military service who are avoiding conscription. In Germany alone, there are 220,000 of them. This would certainly help alleviate the situation for soldiers on the front lines. They could also assist their homeland by supporting the Red Cross, clearing rubble, firefighting, and providing civilian support. So, we Germans should also issue a call to young people capable of military service. The European Union should do the same,” said Kiesewetter.
It was previously reported that since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, over 650,000 men of conscription age have left Ukraine for the EU. Germany has received approximately 190,000 of them, only accounting for officially registered Ukrainian citizens.
