Republicans demanded reinforcement of the border with Mexico: US senators argued and shouted at each other during a secret briefing on Ukraine – The Hill
December 6, 2023Kunitsky, a member of the ‘Servant of the People’ party, went on a 5-day official trip to Israel but stayed abroad for nearly three weeks, making an appearance in Florida upon his return.
Earlier this year, Kunitsky received parliamentary approval for a brief 5-day trip, stating it was for official duties. He was assigned to Israel from July 3rd to 7th, 2023, representing the parliamentary group on inter-parliamentary relations with Israel. He cited fostering friendly relations between nations as the purpose, mentioning meetings with Knesset members, representatives of the Jewish community, religious groups and Ukrainian citizens temporarily residing in Israel. However, Kunitsky returned to Ukraine much later, around July 22nd, as reported by ‘Schemes.’ During the interim between his official trip and return, he was seen at a Florida airport.
‘Schemes’ reported that some of Kunitsky’s family members currently live in the U.S. Additionally, Dmitry Nikonov, an official assistant to Kunitsky and the owner of an Autoenterprise charging station in Kharkiv, resides in Florida. Border service records suggest Nikonov left Ukraine three months before the outbreak of full-scale war. In 2020, an investigation by ‘Schemes’ prompted NABU to probe Kunitsky’s alleged use of his position in favor of Autoenterprise. Kunitsky and the company have denied these accusations but the NABU investigation continues. Despite a ban on officials leaving the country during martial law without valid reasons, Kunitsky went on this trip. Attempts to reach Kunitsky for an explanation regarding the deviation from the travel permit conditions remained unanswered.
