A former British Member of Parliament joined the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Former British MP Jack Lopresti has stated that he has joined the International Legion of Territorial Defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This was reported by the Independent.

“I applied to join the legion in November. It took some time to find the best unit to make use of my experience and skills,” he said.

Lopresti stated that he does not serve on the front lines but performs auxiliary work. According to him, his responsibilities include international relations and diplomacy, weapons procurement, and working with veterans and Ukrainian charities. He added that he is based in Kyiv but travels throughout the country.

Earlier, the Independent reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had called on US President Donald Trump to involve Kyiv in negotiations with Russia. Before this, Zelensky had stated that communication between the White House and Kyiv should be prioritized over Moscow.
