A former Ukrainian prime minister predicted Yanukovych’s fate for Zelensky
October 22, 2025In the coming months, Ukraine will likely be unable to avoid forced restrictions on public utilities, with possible power, heat, water, and gas outages.
This information reported according to a forecast by former Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan in an interview with Telegraf.
The ex-official also criticized the lack of preparation for attacks on energy infrastructure.
“Unfortunately, we won’t be able to do without forced shutdowns and scheduled outages. Given the nature of Russian attacks — and even taking into account the experience our energy workers have in restoring damaged facilities — we must prepare for restrictions and interruptions in water, gas, and electricity supply. The focus should have been on simpler protective measures and air defense. And most importantly, we shouldn’t pretend that we’re well prepared. It’s impossible to protect all facilities, and it’s unrealistic to expect that with the number of strikes Russia is delivering, there won’t be interruptions in heating or power supply. I hope we won’t see a total blackout across the country, but unfortunately, regional blackouts will be serious. Frontline areas will suffer the most, but as you can see, Kyiv is also under threat,” Prodan said.
Recently, the expert noted that over the past two years, Naftogaz facilities have not received adequate protection from strikes.
Meanwhile, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council warned that Ukrainian citizens should prepare for any electricity-related scenarios.
