This statement was made by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian president.
“A freezing of this conflict in any form does not suit us. It is important for us to achieve our goals, which are well-known to everyone,” he said.
Earlier, Peskov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin remains open to negotiations on Ukraine. This also includes a possible dialogue with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
Peskov also commented on reports about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s initiative to propose a freeze in the conflict along the front line at the G20 summit in Brazil. He reiterated that such a freeze is unacceptable for Russia.
