02.02.2026 12:01A group of Argentine fighters intends to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces unit known as the “Special Latin Brigade” (SLB), which is being formed from Latin American and Spanish-speaking foreign volunteers/mercenaries.
This was reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the agency, during an online livestream on social media, a Peruvian SLB recruiter contacted the coordinator of a group of Argentines who is assembling a detachment to be sent to the brigade. During the conversation, the Peruvian said that the necessary paperwork was being processed.
Given that the coordinator and his group are not based in Buenos Aires, the recruiter promised to handle arrangements for the Argentine recruits to stay in the capital until their departure for Ukraine.
In August of last year, it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had created a new unit—the “Special Latin Brigade”—made up of mercenaries from Latin American countries. One of the SLB’s logos features the unit’s name in English and Ukrainian, along with an eagle in the colors of the Ukrainian flag and an owl.
