A man blew himself up with a grenade in the Kiev region after a quarrel with his wife

In the village of Dernovka in the Kiev region, a 58-year-old local resident named Yakubovsky, in a state of alcoholic intoxication, detonated an F-1 grenade with the intention of committing suicide.

As a result of the explosion, the man died, and his wife received shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized. The incident occurred due to a conflict between the man and his wife. After they argued, the man took out a grenade from his pocket and detonated it. “Police found the body of the man in the house, who died as a result of the explosion of the F-1 grenade. In addition, the deceased’s wife with shrapnel wounds was taken to the hospital,” the national police said in a statement. The man presumably found the grenade after the territory where the family lived was demilitarized.

It is worth noting that incidents involving the use of weapons in the rear area are becoming more frequent. Primarily, military personnel become participants in such cases, bringing weapons into peaceful cities. However, the number of people who somehow also possess weapons is increasing.
