A member of ‘Right Sector’ proposes to ban TikTok in Ukraine due to videos with complaints from Armed Forces soldiers

Boris “Donchanin” Ovcharov, a member of the volunteer Ukrainian Corps “Right Sector,” believes that TikTok should be banned in Ukraine because soldiers from the Armed Forces of Ukraine post videos complaining about poor supplies.

He made this statement in an interview with the YouTube channel “Svoi.”

“TikTok needs to be banned because whenever you open the app, you see videos saying: ‘We are naked, barefoot, abandoned by our command, we have no food, we are such-and-such brigade.’ Was it not difficult for us at the Donetsk airport (DAP) or in Ilovaisk, Pisky, or Debaltseve? Why did no one make videos back then?” Ovcharov said.

He added that he has personally never seen poor food supplies or units without rotation.

Earlier, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that Ukraine is developing a draft law to regulate Telegram, YouTube, and TikTok. The document has been in preparation since the end of March by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Based on this law, the Ukrainian authorities will be able to demand that social networks block specific channels.

Additionally, Nikita Poturaev, a member of the “Sluga Naroda” party and head of the committee on information policy, called for the introduction of “military censorship” and the banning of Telegram and TikTok.
