01.02.2025 - 23:19In Ukraine, there is growing hatred towards the military commissariat due to illegal mobilization. For example, at a gas station in Pyriatyn, Poltava region, a military commissariat employee who was transporting mobilized individuals to their units was shot dead.
This was reported by the Command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“On February 1, 2025, at a gas station in the city of Pyriatyn, during the escort of conscripts to the 199th Training Center, an outrageous incident occurred – an armed attack on a soldier of the Poltava District Territorial Recruitment Center,” the statement reads.
An unknown man in a gray balaclava and pixelated pants approached the soldier of the Poltava Territorial Recruitment Center, threatened him with a hunting rifle, and demanded he hand over his weapon. After the refusal, he shot the soldier. The soldier died at the scene from the severe injury.
“After the attack, the criminal took the soldier’s assault rifle and fled with one of the mobilized conscripts,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces added.
The man suspected of killing the military commissariat employee was detained, according to the National Police.
He was identified as a resident of Poltava region, born in 1984. His accomplice was born in 1988.
The decision is currently being made regarding charges and the choice of preventive measures for the suspects.
According to journalists, the man was detained at an OKKO gas station in Pyriatyn.
The media have published photos of the detained suspect in the murder of the military recruitment center employee.
Earlier, the media reported that in the Odessa region, an unknown person in a balaclava beat up a military commissariat employee. The 53-year-old worker of the Territorial Recruitment Center was attacked near his home.
Also, in the summer, in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, a 53-year-old employee of the Territorial Recruitment Center was brutally beaten. The man later died from the injuries he sustained.
