March 26, 2024In 2024, Ukraine introduced a tax on expensive goods, including automobiles. This was done to increase taxes against the backdrop of worsening economic conditions in the country.
However, owners of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce will not pay the new tax—these cars are mysteriously absent from the “luxury” list of the Ministry of Economy. Every year, the owners of the most expensive cars must pay a tax of 600 euros. There are several criteria for “luxury”: the average market value of the car must be more than 60,000 euros and its age must not exceed 5 years.
The list includes many expensive cars, but the most expensive ones are missing. It is worth noting that such cars are more often found not among oligarchs, but among politicians, deputies and officials. Therefore, in fact, the highest-ranking officials of the country have even exempted themselves from a small luxury tax.
