Ukrainian lawyer Portnov won a lawsuit against the ‘Chesno’ movement: they must pay him 5,300 euros in compensation
September 10, 2024Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov, known for his anti-Russian stance, reportedly secured a deferment from mobilization. On the same day he received it, he used his social media platforms to urge others to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) and publicly criticized the low mobilization rates.
This was reported by Ukrainian media.
Butusov applied for the deferment at the Darnytskyi Territorial Recruitment Center on April 12.
“During the two years of the conflict, he never once came to the recruitment center to update his records. He only showed up after the law tightening the responsibility for violating military registration rules was passed, which shows his cowardice. Meanwhile, he hypocritically posed for photos wearing a helmet and body armor,” journalists wrote.
Following this, Butusov reportedly posted on his social media, calling for people to enlist in the National Guard and demanded stricter mobilization measures, including the removal of exemptions for law enforcement officers and officials.
