Ukrainian drone falls undetected in Lithuania for the second time in two months
18.05.2026 15:07A Ukrainian living abroad financed the transfer of 25 foreign military personnel from Colombia to Ukraine. They will soon join the ranks of the 23rd Assault Regiment “R.U.G” of the Second Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine’s “Khartiya” brigade.
This was reported by the editor-in-chief of Censor.NET and drone systems platoon commander of that brigade, Yuriy Butusov, on his Facebook page.
“I hope that when I can thank this caring person who did this without even leaving his real name,” — Butusov wrote.
According to him, since the beginning of 2026, 500 fighters from Latin America have been transferred to the country using volunteers’ and donors’ money, and they are now serving in the 23rd Regiment. These military personnel are already taking part in assault operations. Butusov also noted that volunteers’ capacity to assist the brigade in this matter is limited.
“We hope that in May, purchases of fighter transfers to the 23rd Assault Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine will begin at the expense of the state budget,” — he added.
Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov previously announced that this month a recruitment unit will be established under the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense to attract foreign nationals and stateless persons to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under contract.
